Fees & Rebates

Fees

What are your fees?

The Australian Psychological Society has a schedule of recommended fees for private practice psychological services.

As of 1 July 2025, the recommended rate for a 50 minute appointment is $318.

Fees are payable at the end of each consultation.

I accept payment by either cash, direct deposit, EFTPOS or credit card.

Rebates

Private Health Funds

Some private health funds provide rebates for psychology services.

Please contact your private health fund to find out if you are eligible for a rebate. The item number for the initial consultation is 100 and the item number for any subsequent consultations is 200.

You can only claim either from Medicare or from your private health insurance (if applicable) at the one time.

Medicare

The Federal Government offers a Medicare rebate for psychological services under the auspices of a Mental Health Care Plan.  Sleep health is a mental health issue.

With this program, you are able to claim a rebate ($98.95 per 50 minute session) for psychological services if a GP, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician has provided a referral letter plus a mental health care plan.

Under a mental health care plan, you can claim a rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

In addition to mental health care plans, I also accept chronic disease management plans.  With this plan, you are able to access up to 5 sessions per calendar year.  From July 1st 2025, the Medicare rebate for a chronic disease management plan is $61.80 per session.  If you have a mental health care plan or chronic disease management plan, they do not expire at the end of the year and any unused sessions can be carried over to the next year.  You will be out of pocket for the ‘gap’ between my consultation fee and the Medicare rebate.  Please discuss your eligibility for a mental health care plan or chronic disease management plan with your Doctor.

I have a HICAPS machine and software that allows Medicare rebates to be processed electronically.

NDIS

If you have NDIS funding, you may be eligible to utilise your NDIS funding to cover the cost of sessions.  For more information please discuss this with Amanda
